Space Planning
Space planning is an important part of building design and is used to determine how a space or spaces should be used. For JAG Development this is step one of the building design process.
We will consider the programming needed and maximize the function of the space.
JAG Development knows that a well designed space can improve the well being and productivity of the occupants in a space. We will consult with the client to clarify their requirements for the space before starting planning, typically by considering issues such as:
- Intended use(s) of the space
- Number of occupants
- Space required per occupant
- Access to the space
- Access and use of the space for people with disabilities
- Requirement for furniture, fixtures and equipment
- Number of people who are likely to use the space
- Security, safety and privacy
- Any and all code requirements applicable
- Lighting, Information Technology and other building services requirements
- Need for flexibility or future growth
